The BWSSB and BBMP have systems in place to address grievances in a day

To make it easier for citizens to lodge complaints and for more efficient and transparent redressal, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched its new website Spandana (www.spandana.kar.nic.in). All complaints can be filed, from tree fall, health, revenue, to civic infrastructure works. The citizens have two options – they can call the control room’s number or lodge complaints online.
Officials in the BBMP say, “As soon as the complaint is lodged, it gets registered in the main bank. The citizen will also get a SMS informing him about the status of the complaint. We have also provided all the officers with wireless sets. The information about the complaint area and the complaint details will be forwarded to the officer concerned.”

The time taken will differ according to the nature of the complaint. “While the minimum response time is 24 hours, the maximum can extend up to even six months. Complaints relation to removal of tree branches, street lighting, garbage collection etc will be
addressed within 24 hours. Infrastructure work like road asphalting will take longer, maybe three to four months, as it requires administrative approval,” the official explains.
The control room number is 22660000.
BWSSB has
24-hour hotline
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will redress any water or sewerage complaints within a day. There are service stations in every locality where any water, sanitation, or even billing com
plaints can be lodged. An official explains, “You can either call up or send a written complaint to the assistant executive engineer (AEE) concerned. Your complaint will be recorded in the register and attended to within 24 hours”.
The water inspector or the sanitation inspector will be sent to inspect the area and take required measures. In case of a blocked sanitary pipe, the man
hole will first be cleaned manually using bamboo sticks. If the pipe is still blocked, jetting or pressure machines will be used to clear it. Despite this, if the pipe gets frequently choked or overflows, then the sanitation inspector will analyse the problem and, if need be, replace the pipes with one having a higher diameter.
To register a complaint by phone, the 24-hour hotline number is 155313. You can also address a mail to the chairman at chairman@bwssb.org and to the PRO at pro@bwssb.org for the redressal of any complaints.

    dear sir / madam,

this is to inform that at 13th ‘a’ main road, kumaraswamy layout 2nd stage, bangalore – 78 (near to balamuri ganapathy temple) there is a park which was framed by bbmp people recently. its a long stretch park. half portion of the park is filled with plants and also a bbmp office has been constructed.the remaining portion has been left out for the children to play.but the left out place in the park has been occupied/engaged by some 3rd graded/slum people most of the time. the activities which they condut are all i guess is illegal (drug activities), screeming, talking loudly and the park has been converted to a play gound. cricket, volley ball, football etc is played from morning till evening and by this the residents has been effected/distrubed to a larger extent. henceforth i would request to you consider this problem effectively and give us a relief at the earliest.

  5. Sudeep Says:

The BBMP online property tax payment is bogus.they are misguiding the citizen. They are wasting the individuals time.In case any techinical problum or administravive problum they have to infomr or publish in newspaper. Like a fools moost of the people sitting in front of the PC and trying for whole day and the display we get is temporarrly out of not available.

Atleast if they cannot improve/ update. they should improve in communicating to the citizen.

    To, commissioner, BBMP
    Sir
There is a KIDSZEE, a pre school that started at 493, 16 A Cross, sector-6, HSR Layout, bangalore-560102. As you are aware this is a residential area with a small road of 40 feet infront of school. The school building itself is a small dwelling of hardly 15 squares and no vacant space for children to play. Aggrieved residents promptly protested and represented to Commissioner , BBMP; DDPI south, Police etc. DDPI south-3, clarified that they didn’t permit any such school. We have an association named \Jagruti\ which has taken up the matter with local corporator and MLA. But so far no action is taken. The residents are facing the brunt of traffic with so many cars getting parked. It is also sad flight to see children weeping all the time . As an immediate neighbour I have to flee this area for peace or become a patient with all these hardships. I request commissioner , BBMP to kindly take action to close down the school.

    I reside on 16E cross, 1st Main, Pai Layout, K R Puram, bangalore 560016.
On either side of the 16 E cross road, there is stagnant water which is collected in the gutters. The rennovation of the gutter on the 1st main road has blocked the drainage of the gutters adjoining the road. The stagnant water has attracted growth of algae and mosquitoes. Due to the rains the stagnant water is spewing on to the road and anyone who needs to walk has to go through the dirty water. Let us not wait for a pandemic (big epidemic like dengue and malaria). Please take action.

    Dear sir,
I am facing sewage water problem in frount of my house 35, Royal Shelters, Near water Tank, Devarachikkana Halli, Bommanahalli area, Ward No. 175. The underground sewage pipelines are blocked mud over a peiod of time and due to this, the dirty sewage water flows out from the man holes causing bad smells and thereby creating health hazards. The overflowing swwage water comes out ringht in frount of the house and flows on the roads and falls into storm water drains on both sides of road. We are suffering to enter inside house and come out. This problem has aggregated for the pasr two months after L&T central drainage work has been undertaken. We have complained BBMP , BWSSB and corporator several times. They had sent lorry for clearing the blockage which helped temporarilly to small extent only. We fear that the above blockage will stop outlet from house there by causing sewage overflow inside my house itself. Considering our problems, we hereby request you to provide an immediate solution at the earliest. We also request you kindly arrage a permanent solutions as soon as possible.

  51. B.Sachidananda Says:

    Sir,
In these days of country wide awakening against corruption and corrupt practices, BBMP seems to be least bothered about the happenings and is going on with its old style. I am just quoting here about a work that is going on in the area where I am living i.e. jayanagar. All over jayanagar work on reconstruction of storm water drains and covering it with stone slabs is going on.
There is a peculiar ward classification between jayanagar first block, second block and rest of jayanagar ( I am not so familiar with their distinct classification ) While the first category belongs to CHICKPET CONSTITUENCY the second category belongs to JAYANAGAR COSTITUENCY. They have different Corporators and different MLAs.
Naturally different authorities are concerned with each constituency to
plan, tender, implement and execute the ongoing works to their set standards. In any case, whoever does it,it should fulfil the specifications and quality standards set by BBMP. No doubt these cannot be different for different constituencies under the same BBMP. But what is actually happening to all these norms can be better understood if one visits the works going on in these constituencies.
We are not aware of any of the specifications or quality norms, but when we observe even casually the work that is going on in Jayanagar constituency, we find it is far,far superior than that is going on the other side. While Jayanagar constituency work is being completed in a systematic manner, covering the drains with uniform, semi finished stone slabs, the raised ends of the drains are finished with sloping blocks providing grates where ever the rain water from road has to flow in to the drain, and finishing the edges appropriately at the entrances of the residences and car sheds such that they move freely into them, finally painting those sloping blocks with attractive paints. The progress of work in this area is also quite fast and least inconviniencing the public.I am not exaggerating,it is quite opposite in the other constituency I have referred above and they are adjacent constituencies and the contrast is glaringly visible to any one who sees them. Most of the materials used there are the ones used in earlier construction, covering slabs are crude, unfinished, raised edges of the drains have not been finished at all due to which the vehicles remain outside the residences causing apathy to both owners and the public using the roads.Take any aspect of the work that is going on, it is less said the better.
As the work is not happening there presently and the extra materials removed,we get the impression that the contractor might have given his completion report and pocketed the money probably amounting to more than what the other side contractor gets, for the great duping work he has done with the public money. We don’t understand what the BBMP authorities concerned with the work will be doing when all these things are happening? Are they not paid to check and rectify such works? It is really surprising that these people do all these things so boldly, even when a war against corruption is going on in the country so rampantly.
Shall we hope at least now some better sense will prevail on these officials and they set right all the wrongs that are due to their hand in gloves attitude which is shaming our existence itself.

    Dear Sir/Madam:
This is to bring it to your notice that one of my neighbours has not been paying the property tax accurately to the Government. This premises also has an illegally constructed top floor which generates handsome Rent. There is no prior plan approval from your Plan Approval Authority for this floor which is also an obstruction for us. The owner of this premises is enjoying all benefits by defaulting/evading property tax to the Government as well as enjoying rent from 2 floors which includes one illegal floor.
The total rented property would be approximately 1500 square feet. The approximate rent generated from rented property would be around 18,000 (Eighteen thousand) to 20,000 (Twenty thousand), whereas they have been defaulting/evading property tax by paying a meager amount of Rs. 5000 and Rs 4000 respectively for the last 2 years, mentioning that they are using it for their own use. This can be verified on your BBMP website. This building, as far as my knowledge goes, was constructed in the year 2006-07 and the defaulting/tax evasion has been happenning for more than 5 years now.
PID Number of this property is 54-170-175
As a prompt citizen and a frustrated neighbour, I request you to kindly look into this complaint and take all necessary action against these tax evaders which is affecting our overall economy and bringing down the funds within the Government treasury, thus affecting the growth of our city as promised by Government representatives and as expected by common citizens.
Please confirm receipt of this complaint and also let me know if I have to address this issue to any other department/e-mail ID with their address.
Expecting you to act on this issue at the earliest. Eager to see the BBMP Property Tax /SAS Department in action.

  60. Subbukrishna Says:

    Dear sir/madam

We faced problem of drainage blockage in our residence and contacted BBMP for cleaning in J.P.Nagar 1st phase,ITI colony.BBMP service personnel came and saw the drainage and demanded Rs.1500 and we told them to reduce the amount and they refused and went away.Even after 2 days after complaining again, they did not turn up we contacted our corporator (shakambari nagar ward 179)and through them next day the BBMP people came and quarreling with us and cleaned the drainage. The blockage is mainly due to roots of a tree in front of our house.
We complained to BBMP, forest dept to remove the tree they assured and even today not removed the tree. Because of this rats are living which is making damage to our house.Near by neighbours removed trees in front of their houses and troubling us while we try to remove the tree.

It is my humble request to take action in removing the treeand also BBMP to implement Billing system for drain cleaninmg so that we can pay the amount to government legally. Otherwise they demand amount as they like.

    Yours sincerely

  63. Vijay Srinivas Says:

    Please dont remove dustbins.
This is to state that, there are already very few dust bins in the city, and people are either forced to litter, or go to malls/big shopping complexes to throw wrappers etc.
Also, Indians lack civic senses, to say the least. Not to mention that littering is an punishable offence with fines in Europe, America, Japan and Australia.
Dustbins would atleast bring some civic senses to civic-sense-starved Indians, and please dont remove this last resort also to keep the city clean.

I have a message for bbmp. The garbage dumping/Plastic cover dumping nuisance in residential areas in bangalore that is giving lot of hardships & troubles to residents in bangalore.
What is more shocking is some senseless fools indulging in rampant garbage dumping & plastic covers dumping in front of residents houses.
These fools have been throwing all sorts of plastic covers & garbage in front of residents houses in bangalore & creating rampant nuisance.
What is even more concerning is such garbage & plastic covers dumping is posing very serious health concerns for residents in bangalore, such plastic cover dumping & garbage dumping is giving an environment for rats & mosquitoes to survive.
I request the bbmp to conduct surprise visits to residential areas in bangalore & take stringent action against such nuisance creators by imposing fines on such case.
The worst part in 1st cross, 3th main, b-block, vinayakanagar, konena agrahara, old airport road, hal, bangalore-560017 is that the bbmp labors it self collect the garbage from our residence and dump it here in an empty site. Now where DID the bbmp go?? Visit the area and we expecting some measures here.

  111. Indira Mishra Says:

The power which has been conferred on federation by the Karanataka housing board is not a correct decision. they never execute it properly. There is a beautiful park inside the complex but, all outsiders except the residents enjoy the facility of the park. The youngsters play football volleyball and cricket , all type of coaching is given to the outsiders only. It is better if they make it a public park, at least BBMP can convert it to a sports ground. Many Banglorean young sports guys can be benefitted nicely. It must be declared as a public park and sports ground atleast it can be maintained better. BBMP will be strict enough to appoint security men to maintain the park. Visitors will be allowed to roam freely during evening hour other time they will enter by purchasing tickets as Karomangalla park is maintained so nicely with discipline.

Ngv park is opened from all sides, many illegal work is done there. So many robbery ,illegal cases can be avoided if it is closed and guarded properly by the security. The entrance back gate must be closed by evening to avoid heavy traffic pollution. Around thousands of vehicles are passing by the residential roads which is exclusively for the residents only. Then, it must be declared as a national road or public road. The residents of ngv will not pay money or tax for the maintenance of the roads, street light , park and security expenses. The tax can be collected by each passenger as monthly base issuing id cards to them who use park, road regularly.

At lease KHB can collect lakhs of money easily raising funds in ngv why should they wait a long for the pending maintenance from the ngv residents or welfare association only. Anyway residents pay all taxes money to the welfare association who keep pending the due of water and other resources taxes for so many years as an pending due in some lakhs. At least BBMP must make use of the residential area and it’s facilities as a fund raising ways or resources from the public easily. Both the ngv and bbmp will be privileged. Federation is good for nothing.

It just stands as an inactive body, which has no control over the ngv residents or on the common resources of the colony, they cannot control any thing. better they must declare the whole property, facilities as park and the common area, roads as the public property. If it is declared as public property then can be better looked after and maintained by BBMP. The ngv residents can save their residents fund easily. The federation body must be removed. Thanks, kindly pay attention to the points. a resident of Ganga block’, b2 , 316,

In Wilson Gardens there is no garbage clearance at all.All the pourakarmikas are in the same area working for the last 25 years to 30 years. They do not sweep the roads or pavements properly. There are no superviosrs to supervise their job. They sit in front of Tea shops and waste their time.Garbage is never lifted. They pester for money to lift the garbage.Wh should BBMP collect cess money at the time of paying property taxes and even renewing health licences.Even after paying the cess we are expected to pay bribes why should we pay taxes and cesses.Cess itself is illegal and against KMC act. Ofcourse no one is following any acts in Karnataka. It is an eyesore with mounds of garbage lying on the roads and pavements.BBMP should initate immediate action like transferring all the old porakarmikas and take strict action against Garbage contractors for pestering bribes.

    Sir/Madam,

I am living in 9th Cross, Pai Layout, Hulimavu.

In the last 1 year I have spotted cobra snakes twice in my house. We have called the snake catcher Anees to catch them. One of the reasons can be attributed to vacant sites in front on my house and behind my house, where the snakes breed.

These sites have tall grown plants etc and looks like a mini forest, every month we pay a gardner to cut the tall plants, however we cannot take the responsibility of getting the site cleaned.

The site owners are either staying abroad or if in Bangalore they are not responding to our phone calls, for them these sites are for purely investment purpose and do not care to get them cleaned regularly.

We request you to please look into this and serve notice to these site owners. The vacant site details are

    Front side
    Site No 5 & Site No 6
    (Owner – Ramnath Verma – Mob – 9343331809)

    Back side
    Site No 12 & Site No 13

  114. K.SHASHIDHARA Says:

    Dear sir

There is no point in complaining through this route as I have been complaining about the hardship faced by the residents of 2nd Main 10th NGEF layout Nagarabhavi 2nd stage Bangalore 72 with regard to illegal consruction of shed and a toilet in site no 39 of 2nd Main 10th cross NGEF layout nagarabhavi 2nd stage Bangalore 72 due to ovferflow of sewerage water from the kitchen and the bath room inside the illegal shed constructed to the rain water charandi. This is causing for the generation of mosquito. since dengue fever is prevailing in Bangalore, this genuine problem encountered by the residents of the area is not taken care by BBMP to initiate steps for stopping the flow of sewerage water to the rain water charandi. Is there any provision under BBMP rule to allow the sewerage water to flow to the rain water charandi. Further in the same site about 4 big ponds have been digged and when it rains the rain water will be filled up in this and it will become an inhouse for the mosquito. Though the problem encountered by the residents are of genuine in nature no official from BBMP is concerned to take steps to stop the sewerage water flowing to rain water charndi. Even no steps have been initiated to fill up the big pond digged in the site no 39. Sri Srinavasan though taken prompt action to depute his persons to inspect the spot and inform the tenant staying in the temporary shed to inform the owner to call on BBMP officials. Really Srinivasan AEE action is very much appreciable and we expected that he would take immediate steps to stop the sewerage water flowing to the rain water charandi. we donot know why such an active person has not taken steps. Now our request is that immediately sewerage water flowing to the rain water charandi to be stopped. 2 Four big ponds digged in the site to be filled up. 3. If the shed has been constructed illegally, proper steps should be initiated.

  115. Manoj Kumar Says:

I am a resident of Indira Street, 1st Cross, 7th main, 80ft Road, Subnapalya, Bangalore-43. There is an assigned Garbage Collector for cleaning up the Street, however there has been a lot of irregularities in collecting the dumps (the person who has been assigned to do this work is coming once or twice in a week and even if the garbage collector is coming they won’t be whistling). This has been happening for quite a while. Let me highlight one more thing that most of the residents are paying money to the Garbage collector but despite paying money there won’t be any regularity also there won’t be any irregularities in collecting the money from the residents. I would request you to check this out, as most of the residents in the locality are facing the similar challenge in dumping the garbage, as a result of which garbage is now being dumped across the streets. I am just wondering whether BBMP will take any measures for this or when will BBMP take any feedback sessions for such kind of irregularities happening by their people itself.

I have already raised my concern with News 9 TV channel where BBMP should be brought to notice through media channels and then they can later focus on segregation of the garbage. We should now be ashamed where “New York Times” has highlighted this issue globally. It was quite disappointing to listen to former Mayor Comments Mr. Harish who blindly was telling on one of the news channel that every one is doing their job.

Mr Harish let’s not give any false statement without Facts and figures. People are smart enough and they can’t be disguised by giving such statements, as they are genuinely facing the issue. We can prove it if you can come down to the above mentioned address and speak to the residents of this locality individually you will come to know about the challenges.

The BBMP needs to identify such more places and come up with a solution for that.
