Pune Property

Pune: Soon, you may not be required to take leave for registration of property. The department of registration and stamps is planning to extend the timings at registration offices — one each in Pune, Mumbai and Thane, to 10 pm. Moreover, if the response is good, night shifts will be introduced in these departments.
The process to make this a reality will be set into motion next week itself, state inspector-general registrations (IGR) Ramrao Shinagre said on Friday. “If the project gets the desired response, we will have two shifts — day as well as night — at more registration offices,” he said.
“The intention is to help the working class,” he said, adding, “The department will need to increase the staff for implementing this pilot
project. We have got the green signal from the department concerned, such as finance, to add manpower.”
Shinagre said, “The timings for the two shifts are yet to be finalised.
We are looking at two options —from 7 am to 2 pm and 4 pm to 10 pm. The offices located in the central areas of the three cities will be chosen for this project.”
‘Online system to save regn time’
Pune: An online system for filling details related to registration of property will be introduced by the end of this month, A R Devgunde, DIG, department of registration and stamps, said here on Friday. “Anyone entering into a property deal will have to fill a form online. A token with information on the date, time and place of submission of papers for property registration will be issued to the person. This will save lots of time of the citizens,” he said. TNN

Ready reckoner rates increased by 11%
Pune: The ready reckoner rates (RRR), which are used as a base figure to calculate the registration charges on property deals, have been hiked by around 11 per cent in all major cities in the state. The new rates have been implemented from Friday. “In some prime areas the rates have been increased by 20 per cent but the average hike is around 11 per cent,” said Ramrao Shingare, inspector general of registrations (IGR), Maharashtra.
