AMBALA PROPERTY Consultant Association (APCA) has demanded to make Ambala Sadar land freehold. Talking to mediapersons after the general meeting today, APCA secretary general R.N. Samrat said residents are facing great difficulties due to legal encumbrances of the land, which was taken out of the Cantt area jurisdiction in 1977.Demanding scrapping of NoC, he said successive governments have promised to solve the contentious status of land, which has been hampering the development of the city .

Samrat added that the process of extending Ambala Sadar municipal area is in the final stages, whereby 14 villages and over 500 colonies would be included in the MC area.

Flaying the compulsory registration of property dealers and fixing of brokerage by the government, APCA members said it would hit them hard as they are already badly affected by recession.

Earlier, Onkar Nath Pruthi and Raj Kumar Thakur were unanimously elected president and vice-president, respectively, while Ashok Goyal was made chairman of APCA.
