TO COME OUT WITH PUBLIC ISSUE WORTH RS 16,500 MILLION SHORTLY

Jaypee Infratech Ltd, an infrastructure company and part of the Jaypee Group, is about to launch an initial pub- lic offering (IPO) worth Rs 16,500 million.

Addressing a press confer- ence here on Wednesday, com- pany’s Director-in-Charge Sameer Gaur said the compa- ny had already applied to SEBI for the IPO. He said Jaypee Infratech was part of the Jaypee Group, a diversified infra- structure conglomerate in the country. He said the company had been working in many seg- ments, including civil engi- neering and construction, cement, power, real estate, expressways, hospitality, golf courses and education. He said Jaypee Infratech was incorpo- rated on April 5, 2007, as a spe- cial purpose company and engaged in the development of the Yamuna Expressway and related real estate projects.

He said the company aimed to build the biggest highway of Asia stretching over 165 km connecting Utttar Pradesh.

The highway would be access- controlled six-lane concrete pavement expressway along the Yamuna, he said. The com- pany wished to mobilise the potential of small towns and transform them into better- equipped towns. He told that Yamuna Expressway project also aimed to build five town- ships, one in Noida, two in Gautam Buddha Nagar district and one each in Aligarh and Agra districts.
