The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) would come up with a new housing scheme in Sector 51 this year.
These would include LIG, MIG and EWS houses. The decsion was taken in a meeting of the Board of Directors on Friday.
The Board also gave approval to the tendering process for Sector 63 housing scheme.
Officials said the rates of Sector 51 flats would be kept afford- able to cater to the needs of all sections of society.
CHB will construct around 2,200 dwelling units of different categories in Sector 63 over an area of 42 acres.
The sector 63 scheme com- prises flats under four different categories i.e. 304 three bed room flats, 836 two bed room flats, 532 one bed room flats and 304 two room flats.
Three bedroom flat is priced at Rs 39,57,451, two bedroom flat at Rs 29,14,051 while one bedroom flat at Rs 17,15,744 and two room flat (EWS) at Rs 5,66,250.
In addition to these, more than 4,500 dwelling units will be constructed in Sector 53, 54 and 55 in an area of 90 acres.
